Registration NOW OPEN!

Register for the 2026 in-person festival by March 16, 2026.

The in-person festival will be Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. This festival is open to all metro-area fourth grade classes and homeschool students. Registration is now open – be sure to register by March 16, 2026!

A note about registration: There are often more classes interested in participating in the festival than we can accommodate, therefore you are registering your class to be included in the selection process that works to ensure equitable representation. Classes selected to participate will be notified by early May. All remaining registered classes will be moved to a waiting list in the event another class cancels.

Weather cancellation guidelines are available at https://metrocwf.org/weather/.

Can’t wait for the in-person festival? Check out the virtual festival, available year-round and open to all!

Transportation Cost Assistance

We may be able to provide funding on an as-needed basis in the form of a reimbursement to assist with transportation costs.

New this year:

As we have limited funds available to help schools with transportation costs to attend the festival, we have established a Bussing Reimbursement Program. Through this program, schools can receive a maximum of $500 per bus for up to 4 buses. Funding is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. You will be notified if your school will receive bussing reimbursement by May 31, 2026.

More details on the program, including contact information if the program does not meet your school's needs, are available here: (https://metrocwf.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/MCWF-Bussing-Reimbursement-Program.pdf).

If you would like to participate in the program, please check the box below. You will then be asked to identify the number of buses that you will be taking to the festival.
